Meet the Makers

Building A Living, For Over 125 Years

125 years in the making

Made in Grand Forks

Grand Forks has a pioneering streak, and it’s still going strong. Meet the makers, growers, artists, builders and creative weirdos turning local land, food and ideas into something special. Around here, DIY isn’t a trend. It’s practically a birthright.

Artisans

Around here, “maker” covers a lot of ground. Painters, potters, woodworkers, sculpters, musicians, bakers, chefs, pie-makers and all sorts of creative characters are busy making things worth stopping for. Meet the folks who put more good stuff into our little corner of the world.

Farms & Fruit Stands

Follow the signs, pull over and see what’s growing. From roadside honour stands and just-picked produce to farm-fresh dairy, local meat and homemade goodies, there’s plenty to take home. And yes, there might even be a duck and a pig waiting for a pat.

Markets

If there’s a market, we’re probably gathering there. Tuesday and Friday summer markets bring the town together, while fall and Christmas markets pack the park, or a cozy room, with local makers, growers, bakers and good things to browse. Bringing people together over good stuff? It’s what we do here.

It's a wild life

From big horns to big characters

Wildlife isn’t something you have to go looking for. Big horn sheep graze the grasslands and sun-baked hillsides, deer wander through leafy neighbourhoods like they own the place and the river is full of fish. Add a few local characters into the mix and you’ve got a pretty lively ecosystem.
